I am a pretty big fan of the social media plat­form Sub­jot, so I thought I would add a shar­ing but­ton to my blog to help pro­mote the ser­vice, and to pro­mote my blog by allow­ing an easy way for Sub­jot users to com­ment about my arti­cles.  Orig­i­nally, I was going to add the but­ton to my Word­Press theme, but decided to write a plu­gin so oth­ers can enjoy the but­ton as well.

The but­ton itself is the result of mod­i­fy­ing Subjot’s book­marklet com­bined with my Sub­jot but­ton graphic.  The rest of the plu­gin places the but­ton on your blog with­out need­ing to edit any code.  I got the idea for using the Sub­jot book­marklet from @lambd­abass, who may have been the first to add a sub­jot but­ton to a blog.

Instal­la­tion

1. Unzip and Upload the folder ‘burnmans-subjot-button’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
2. Acti­vate the plu­gin through the ‘Plu­g­ins’ menu in WordPress
3. Donate to sup­port devel­op­ment if you like the plugin!
